The glass pieces featured here were created between approximately 1996 and 2010 at Urban Glass—a glass studio located in Brooklyn, New York.

When I decided last year to move from Brooklyn—my home for so many years—to Las Vegas, I fully intended to discard most of these glass works; they had been left unfinished, piled high, and gathering dust for years. As a sort of act of atonement, I decided to wash the dust off them before throwing them away. While photographing them in the natural light streaming through the skylight in my home loft, I was surprised to discover that there were actually quite a few pieces of high quality (if I may say so myself!). I soon grew attached to them again, and—encouraged by my husband and friends—I ultimately ended up bringing over three hundred pieces, both large and small, with me to my new home.

Now, here in Las Vegas, beneath the dazzling sunlight, something astonishing has happened: the *shadows* cast by these glass pieces have come to life. They are magnificent shadows—manifesting as a phenomenon unlike anything you would typically encounter, even in a Google search.

Below is a brief overview of the works:

*   All pieces are entirely my own personal creations (produced without the aid of instructors or collaborators) and have never been exhibited or published before.

*   No artificial lighting equipment of any kind was used during the photography process; the images were captured using only natural light via an iPhone (using the original camera settings).

*   Aside from minor cropping of the background dimensions, absolutely no adjustments were made to the photographs regarding color, brightness, contrast, saturation, or any other visual parameters.

ガラス作品は１９９６年頃から２０１０年頃に渡り、ニューヨーク・ブルックリンのUrban Glass（ガラス・スタジオ）で制作したものです。

昨年、永年住み慣れたブルックリンから、ここラスベガス郊外に移住することに決めた時、作りっぱなしで埃まみれの山積み、何年もほったらかしにしていたガラス作品はおおかた処分するつもりでいました。　罪滅ぼしのつもりで、捨てる前に綺麗に埃を洗い流して、自宅のロフトで天窓からの自然光で写真を撮っていたら、意外といいものがたくさんあって（自画自賛なのですが、、、）愛着が湧いてしまい、夫や友人にも諭され、結局大小三百点以上の作品をこちらに連れて来ちゃいました。

そして今度はラスベガスのまばゆい日差しの下で、驚くことに、そのガラス作品の影達がはしゃぎ出したんです。それはGoogleなどでも見かけない類いの現象の見事な影たちなのです。

以下、おおまかな内容説明です。

＊作品は全て私自身の個人的な制作による（指導者や共同制作者はいません）、未発表のものです。

＊撮影にあたり、照明機材等は一切使用しておりません。自然光だけによるiPhoneでの撮影です。＿iPhone（original設定）

＊背景の若干のサイズのトリミング以外、写真の色・明暗・彩度等の調整は全くしていません。
